Natina Nimene promoted to Executive Vice President, Promotion & Artist Relations, at Def Jam Recordings

Natina Nimene has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Promotion & Artist Relations, at Def Jam Recordings.

In her ongoing role, Nimene will continue to lead the strategy, execution and management of Def Jam’s promotion campaigns, its roster of artists, and its staff.

She will continue to serve as a special liaison for core Def Jam artists including Ye, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, 2 Chainz, Jeezy, YG, as well as developing artists like Muni Long, Coco Jones, Fredo Bang and Danileigh.

Nimene is one of Billboard‘s ‘Hip-Hop Power Players’, ‘Women In Music’ and a ‘40 Under 40’ honoree.

She has also been named to Billboard’s ‘Agents on Change’ and Variety’s ‘New York Women’s Impact’ lists.

Natina currently sits on the advisory board of the National Museum of African American Music, and is a member of the UMG Task Force for Meaningful Change, which was launched in 2020.

 

Nimene previously served as Senior Vice President, Urban Promotion, at Def Jam since 2019.

The following year, she added artist relations to her portfolio, managing talent opportunities across a spectrum of media, including radio, podcasts, community and philanthropic endeavors, as well as networks such as BET, MTV, Revolt and Fuse.

In FebruaryUniversal Music Group expanded the Def Jam brand into India and South Asia, with the launch of Def Jam India.
