Noah Sheer, a 22 year veteran of Def Jam, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Head of Promotion, Def Jam Recordings.
Sheer will oversee and head up the radio promotion team at a national level.
He will be based in Santa Monica, and will report jointly to incoming Chairman & CEO Tunji Balogun, and to Nicki Farag, EVP/General Manager.
Noah Sheer has served as Executive Vice President, Rhythm/Crossover & Lifestyle Promotion, Def Jam Recordings, since 2018, following a two-year stint at the label as Senior Vice President, Rhythm/Crossover & Dance Promotion, since 2016.
He began his music career in 1998, as a Promotion Assistant at Arista Records, prior to first joining Def Jam in 2000, as Mid-Atlantic Regional Promotion Manager.
Laurie LaMartina, who’s spent 20 years in radio promotion, and Mundo Garcia, who’s spent 12 years in promo, have also both been promoted to Vice President, Promotion.
Garcia, who is based in New York, will lead radio promotion nationally at the Rhythm format.
LaMartina, also based in New York, will lead radio promotion nationally at the Top 40, Hot AC, and AC formats.
LaMartina and Garcia will each report directly to Sheer.
LaMartina joined Def Jam in 2015, as Northeast Regional Promotion Manager. She was subsequently named East Coast Promotion Manager, then Director, Promotion.
Garcia has served as Vice President, Rhythm Promotion, Def Jam Recordings, since 2018, following a two-year stint at the label as Director, Rhythm Promotion, since 2016.
He began his music career in 2009, as a Promotion Intern at IDJ in Santa Monica. After an interim year at Capitol Records as a Promotion Assistant, he relocated to IDJ in New York in 2011, as a Promotion Assistant.
Lastly, Dave “Sonny D” Rego is upped to Senior Director, Rhythm & Crossover Promotion; Daisy Moreira moves up to Director, East Coast & Midwest Promotion; Kevin “Chixo” Gibbs is upped to Director, Southwest Promotion; and Michael Jackson moves up to Manager, West Coast Promotion.
