London-based production music studio, OUT/STANDARD, has received an investment from Paris-based independent production music company BAM Music as part of a strategic alliance and a global distribution deal.
Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, but according to a press release on Tuesday (May 2), BAM’s investment gives it “a major share in return for investment to propel OUT/STANDARD to the next stage of growth.”
BAM Music is led by former Universal Music executive Pierre-Michel Levallois. The company specializes in library and commissioned music for TV and radio. It recently secured music placements with Dacia, Essilor, Chanel, New Balance, Samsung, Lancome, Puma and Chaumet.
Founded in 2018, BAM now has offices in Paris, London, Montreal, Los Angeles and Shanghai.
OUT/STANDARD recently landed major music placements with Nike, Samsung, Sloggi, Google, Toyota, The English Premier League and Barbour.
The partnership between BAM and OUT/STANDARD will also see Casey Quantick, previously of Extreme/Sony Music, join OUT/STANDARD as Head of Sales and Licensing.
“I’m happy to be starting at a company in the midst of a really exciting growth period. The team have a wealth of knowledge and experience, and are creating something special. Music that people genuinely enjoy listening to, and are excited to discover,” said Quantick.
OUT/STANDARD was founded in 2018 by Pitch & Sync directors Alex Lavery and Simon Robinson, and former SVP Sync for Europe at Warner/Chappell, Jim Reid.
Reid also established Sync + with the late Steve Mackey, a shop dedicated to couture fashion music supervision from runway to advertising.
Both Pitch & Sync and Synch + have helped incubate the growth of OUT/STANDARD with their client base and inclusion in relevant projects.
In 2020, Pitch & Sync received a strategic investment from talent agency Paradigm. The deal integrated Pitch & Sync’s business operations into Paradigm and expanded the latter’s music representation practice in the UK after acquiring a majority interest in Coda Agency in 2019.
