James Steven is a British executive, based in New York, who runs Warner Music Group’s communications and corporate marketing functions worldwide.
As EVP & Chief Communications Officer, Steven’s responsibilities cover WMG’s investor relations, in addition to the company’s corporate events and social responsibility work.

He oversaw much of the investor relations work surrounding Warner Music Group’s flotation on the NASDAQ in summer 2020.
Steven reports directly to the New York-based CEO of Warner Music Group, Steve Cooper.
James Steven: Career to date
James Steven began his career as a publicist working at UK-based PR and marketing agencies including Cow PR and Consolidated PR, where his clients included those in film, TV, technology, retail, and automobile industries.
Steven joined Warner Music Group in London in 2007 as a member of the company’s international communications team.
In 2012, he relocated to New York, having been named WMG’s SVP of Communications & Marketing.
He was promoted again in 2015, becoming EVP of Communications & Marketing at Warner Music Group.
