Third-party logistics company Cinram has signed a multi-year contract with independent music powerhouse [PIAS] to provide full order to cash fulfillment services from its Aylesbury Distribution Centre.
The new deal sees [PIAS]’s physical music fulfillment contract switch away from Arvato.
As Europe’s largest independent music sales, marketing and distribution company, [PIAS] works with labels such Beggars Group, BMG Rights, Domino and Mute, amongst others – handling product from artists including Arctic Monkeys and Adele (pictured).
CBS built Cinram’s facility in Aylesbury, Bucks as its UK vinyl press in the early 1970s. The supply chain company’s automated DC ships thousands of packages direct to store and consumer every day, including to specialist entertainment retailers such as Rough Trade, Piccadilly Records and HMV.
Nick Hartley, COO, [PIAS] said, “We were greatly impressed, not only with the overall knowledge, systems and experience of Cinram, but also their flexibility and determination to provide the highest levels of service in the ever changing market.”
Richard Sefton, Director of Sales, [PIAS] UK commented, “Cinram understands our business very well and we’re looking forward to combining our skills to provide a market leading solution for the artists and labels [PIAS] is proud to work with.”
“Music is at the very heart of Cinram’s heritage. [PIAS] is therefore a natural fit for us and we are delighted to welcome them and their extensive range of exciting labels as a new client. With both parties’ progressive attitude and passion for the sector, there is great scope and flexibility for us to build on the relationship as the industry evolves”, added Dean Watkins, Business Development Director for Cinram UK.Music Business Worldwide
