Sony imprint RCA Records has signed Norwegian producer/songwriter team Stargate to a worldwide artist deal.
The Grammy-Award winning duo, comprised of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen, are known for writing and producing hits for Beyonce, Rihanna and Katy Perry.
They will release their debut single as a recording artist titled ‘Waterfall’ featuring P!nk and Sia this Friday (March 10).
‘Waterfall’ was co-written by Stargate, Sia, Diplo, and Jr. Blender.
Stargate have written and produced 10 Billboard Hot 100 No.1 singles in the US and 11 in the UK.
They have won two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song with Ne-Yo’s ‘Miss Independent’ and Best Dance Recording for Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl In The World’.
In 2007, Stargate received ASCAP UK’s Songwriter of the Year Award and were named Songwriter of the Year at the US ceremony in 2009.
Other writer/producer credits include Beyoncé’s global smash ‘Irreplaceable,’ Beyoncé and Shakira’s ‘Beautiful Liar,’ and extensive work with Rihanna (including ‘Rude Boy,’ ‘Don’t Stop The Music,’ ‘Only Girl (In the World),’ ‘What’s My Name’ and ‘Diamonds’).
Stargate have also worked with Selena Gomez (‘Come & Get It’ and ‘Same Old Love’), Fifth Harmony (‘Worth It’) and Katy Perry (‘Firework’).
Most recently, the creative team produced Coldplay’s album A Head Full of Dreams and co-wrote and produced Julia Michael’s current single ‘Issues’.
Other fresh releases include Major Lazer’s ‘Run Up,’ and the Grammy-nominated single ‘Try Everything’, which was recorded by Shakira and co-written with Sia for the animated film Zootopia.
They will feature some of their favourite artists on forthcoming music.
