SoundCloud is currently offering 50% off its ‘Next Pro’ plan.

Next Pro, which usually starts at $12.50/month, was previously known as ‘Pro Unlimited’ and was renamed last month when SoundCloud rebranded its artist services platform as ‘SoundCloud for Artists’.

That artist services platform was formerly known as ‘Repost’ which SoundCloud acquired in May 2019 for around $15 million.

In addition to Next Pro, SoundCloud’s subscription plans include:

  • Next (free), formerly known as SoundCloud Basic.
  • And, Next Plus (Starting at $2.50/month)‍, which was previously called Repost.

Next Pro, which SoundCloud says on its website will only be discounted for the first year of subscription, includes everything in the Next Plus tier, plus unlimited track uploads and a premium profile badge.

Other perks include “advanced fan insights and custom listening reports”, exclusive partner offers from the likes of music-making app Splice and three free mastering credits each month.

When SoundCloud launching its rebranded artist services platform and renamed subscription last month, Tracy Chan, the platform’s Senior Vice President of Creator wrote in a blog post that “the launch of SoundCloud for Artists and new names of our subscription plans set the stage for what’s next, with new products, features, and services to come”.

The launch marked the latest phase in the evolution of SoundCloud’s creator-facing services business, which has accelerated since Repost was acquired back in 2019 for around $15 million.

SoundCloud for Artists, said Tracy Chan, in his blog post last month, is “an elevated, all-in-one platform for artists to connect with fans and accelerate their careers”.

He added that, “SoundCloud for Artists is now your centralized home for all things distribution, promotion, monetization, and more”.

Chan noted in the blog post that “SoundCloud for Artists is how we collaborate, create, and celebrate something better together for who’s Next in music” and claimed that “SoundCloud is the world’s largest community of music creators, 40M strong”.Music Business Worldwide
