US-based collection and licensing society SoundExchange has promoted Anjula Singh to Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
Singh has served as SoundExchange’s Chief Financial Officer since 2014 and will continue in that role.
She will also continue to report to President & CEO, Michael Huppe.
Prior to joining SoundExchange in 2006, Singh served as Director of Corporate Accounting for The AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 company that owns and operates a portfolio of businesses that provide affordable energy to customers in 15 countries.
She has nearly 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and audit, along with preparing companies for their initial public offering (IPO’s) primarily in the healthcare and energy industries.
SoundExchange paid $952.8m to artists and record labels in 2018.
That figure was up 46.2% on 2017, when the organization distributed $652m to its recorded music members.
In August, SoundExchange teamed up with SourceAudio to provide a new solution for podcasters to secure fully licensed music.
