Spotify has rolled out a new subscription plan in the United States and 54 additional markets.
Described as a “first-of-its-kind subscription plan”, ‘Premium Duo’ is for two people living at the same home address.
It is priced at $12.99 per month in the US and £12.99 per month in the UK.
Premium Duo allows each individual to get their own Premium account under one plan, in addition to benefits like exclusive access to ‘Duo Mix’, a new, regularly updated playlist made for the two subscribers.
The two users have to live at the same address to be eligible and existing Premium subscribers can switch to Premium Duo by visiting their account page and changing their subscription.
Upgrading to Premium Duo allows subscribers to keep their existing Premium accounts along with saved music, podcasts, playlists and recommendations.
Users who haven’t tried Premium before may be eligible to get the first month of Premium Duo for free.
“Today we are proud to launch Spotify Premium Duo, a first of its kind audio offering for just two people in the same household.”
