Syco Music, the label jointly owned by Simon Cowell and Sony Music and operating within the latter’s UK business, has appointed of Michelle Marks as Marketing Director.
Marks reports directly to Sonny Takhar, President of Syco Music.
The exec joins Syco from Red Bee, an entertainment and content marketing agency, where she was Deputy Managing Director, responsible for leading design, digital and multi–platform campaigns across the BBC, as well as brands such as Fox and Disney.
She brings more than 20 years of advertising industry experience to Syco Music. She has worked for some of the world’s most successful agencies like Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), Whybin TBWA Sydney and Mother, with iconic brands including Apple, Orange Mobile and Levi’s.

Syco is home to artists including One Direction, Little Mix, Labrinth, Ella Henderson, Fifth Harmony, Susan Boyle, Collabro and Il Divo.
Within Sony, it tends to get the pick of the litter from Cowell’s reality shows such as X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
In 2014, Syco Music was named the UK’s No. 1 Label for A&R by Music Week.
