Entertainment One (eOne) is the publicly traded parent of Entertainment One Music (eOne Music).
eOne Music, a record label, publishing and artist management company, is led by Chris Taylor.
Entertainment One acquired UK-based production music company Audio Network eOne Music for approximately $215m in April 2019.
In addition to its music division, Canada-headquartered Entertainment One owns subsidiaries covering Film, Television, and Family & Brands.
Acquisition by Hasbro
Entertainment One (and eOne Music with it) were acquired by US toy giant Hasbro in December 2019 in a $3.8 billion all-cash deal.
That acquisition saw eOne Music’s assets transfer to Hasbro’s ownership.
Those assets included Death Row Records, home to recordings from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.
Other eOne assets that moved under Hasbro ownership include Dualtone Music Group (home to The Lumineers’ catalog) and Last Gang Entertainment, in addition to controlling catalog recordings from Brandy, Wu Tang Clan, Chuck Berry and more.
Financials
In 2018, according to eOne’s annual report – prior to its Audio Network acquisition – eOne Music turned over £64.4 million ($78.7m).
That comprised just 6.8% of eOne’s company-wide total FY revenue of £941.2m ($1.15bn).Music Business Worldwide
