Tap Management, home to Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa, is preparing to launch its own label.
No other details are known about the company’s move into recorded music rights just yet, but it comes off the back of Tap’s successful run as a publishing company.
The London-born company has signed Dua Lipa to their publishing operation, which is administered by UMPG.
As we await more details on Tap’s label, the company has hired three respected UK execs in preparation of its expansion: Hannah Neaves, Anna Neville and Tony Beard.
Hannah Neaves is joining as Director of Marketing and Artist Development, working across Tap’s existing roster as well as focusing on new artist development.
Neaves has previously worked at Polydor (where she worked on Ellie Goulding and Haim amongst others) and most recently as Marketing Director at Atlantic, overseeing campaigns for the likes of Ed Sheeran and Charli XCX.
Anna Neville will come in as GM and Director of Business Affairs.
Neville is currently works in the in-house legal team at Beggars Group, working across all the group’s labels – XL Recordings, Young Turks, 4AD, Matador and Rough Trade.
She was previously a lawyer at SSB Solicitors, and prior to that worked in marketing at Island Records.
“Hannah, Anna and Tony all bring so much talent and experience and will enable us to provide a broader and better service to our clients.”
Ben Mawson, Tap Management
Also joining Tap as Senior Manager is Tony Beard.
Previously at Maverick, Beard has nearly 20 years in management having managed Grammy winning La Roux, Mercury Prize winners Klaxons and most recently Rat Boy.
Tap co-founder Ed Millett said: “We have always believed in the independence of artists and that a empowered small team around them was the key to their fulfilment creatively and commercially.
“To that end since starting Tap seven years ago we have steadily added in services available to our artists to become as rounded a proposition as possible. With the advent of streaming we are now fully in a position to launch artists globally from a core in house team. This will allow young artists the time to develop in confidence and only sign to bigger label partners when the time is exactly right.”
Fellow Tap co-founder Ben Mawson added: “Hannah, Anna and Tony all bring so much talent and experience and will enable us to provide a broader and better service to our clients.”
Tap Management were collectively named as Manager Of The Year at the 2017 MMF Artist and Manager Awards earlier this month.
Amongst the artists they manage is Lana Del Rey, whose album Lust For Life debuted at number 1 in the US and UK.
