Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has signed a global publishing deal with American singer and songwriter Teddy Swims.
Swims, whose real name is Jaten Dimsdale, is known for his unique blend of genres including R&B, soul, country, and pop. He gained initial recognition through cover songs uploaded to his YouTube channel. His cover of Michael Jackson’s Rock with You in 2019 has generated more than 10 million views on YouTube, where the artist has 3.3 million subscribers.
He has since released several EPs from 2021 to 2022, including his third EP, Tough Love, which marked his entry on the Billboard 200 as an artist and included his hit songs Love for a Minute and 911.
Swims dropped his debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) through WCM’s sister label, Warner Records, last September. The album, which chronicles his personal journey of self-discovery, peaked in the top 25 on the Billboard 200.
Swims’ single Lose Control became his breakout hit, appearing on the Billboard Hot 100 for over 30 weeks and currently holds the number one spot.
The single also reached the top 10 in numerous countries. It has so far been played 441 million times on Spotify, while a video of Swims performing Lose Control live has generated nearly 79 million views on YouTube.
“Songwriting has always been the core of who I am as an artist and it will continue to be… So excited to keep it in house with Warner Music Group and in the family with the best company on the planet!”

I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) also features other standout singles such as Some Things I’ll Never Know and The Door.
“Thrilled to be teaming up with Warner Chappell as my publisher. Songwriting has always been the core of who I am as an artist and it will continue to be. It’s my therapy and having a team behind me that gets that means the world to me,” Swims said. “So excited to keep it in house with Warner Music Group and in the family with the best company on the planet! Let’s take over the world gang.”
The 31-year-old Georgia native has also collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Thomas Rhett, Meghan Trainor, Maren Morris, X Ambassadors, and Tiësto.
Fresh off a successful I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy world tour that sold over 150,000 tickets in 2023, Swims is currently gearing up for another sold-out global tour spanning North America, Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. This year will see him perform at music festivals like Osheaga Music Festival (Montreal, Canada), Lollapalooza (Chicago), and Fuji Rock Festival (Niigata, Japan). Fans can also look forward to the second part of his debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy.
