Ana Rosa Santiago has been appointed to a new role as VP of Latin Music at Universal Music Publishing Group.
The move is part of efforts to expand opportunities for songwriters throughout US Latin and Latin America.
Santiago joins UMPG from ASCAP, where, as Senior Director of Latin Membership, she ran the PRO’s operation in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean for the last 18 years.
While there, she signed artists and songwriters including Daddy Yankee, Tito Bambino, Luis Fonsi, Kany Garcia, Pedro Capo, and Sky & Bull Nene among many others.
Prior to ASCAP, Santiago worked with writers in the US, Central and South America at Peer Music.
In her newly created A&R and sync role, the exec will sign and develop talent and work to create cross border creative opportunities for UMPG songwriters.
She’s also tasked with promoting and monetising UMPG’s Latin American catalogue.
“I’ve known Ana Rosa for most of her career and have always been impressed by her ear for talent and the professional and creative way she works with everyone in our industry.”
