Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has appointed Jake Simon as Director of Creative.
Reporting to David Gray, UMPG EVP/Head of West Coast A&R, Simon joins UMPG from Atlas Music Publishing, where he served as Director, Creative and handled talent development and acquisitions.
At Atlas, Simon worked with an extensive roster including Toby Gad, Makeba Riddick, Best Kept Secret, Major Myjah, and Mike and Keys among others.
Prior to Atlas Music Publishing, he served as Associate Director of Writer/Publisher relations at Broadcast Music Inc (BMI), where he signed writers, helped curate showcases and worked with such artists and songwriters as Emily Warren, Chloe Angelides, Betty Who and Parson James.
“We’re very pleased to have Jake join our A&R team at UMPG. He’s an incredibly creative A&R exec and brings a wealth experience from both the publishing and PRO side. Jake’s also an accomplished musician in his own right, so he will easily relate with our artists and writers,” said Gray.
“It’s a privilege to be working for Universal and I’m ecstatic to be joining such a strong and forward thinking creative team,” added Simon.Music Business Worldwide
