BMI and ASCAP rival SESAC has signed a major new client – Green Day.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2015, have sold more than 75 million records and won multiple Grammy Awards.
SESAC is the only for-profit songwriter/publisher PRO in the U.S, but also claims to be the only PRO to pay monthly radio royalties and the first PRO to pay songwriters and publishers for live performances.

Green Day’s last studio album was a series of three releases: the trilogy of “Green Day ¡Uno!,” (released September 25, 2012) followed by “Green Day ¡Dos!” (November 13), and “Green Day ¡Tré!” (December 11).
The band collaborated with Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer for the stage musical of American Idiot.
After debuting and breaking attendance records in September 2009 at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the play moved to Broadway and ran for a year at the St. James Theatre, and won two Tony Awards.
