Jon Gisby has been named Vevo’s Head of Europe after playing a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for the music video platform since Erik Huggers became CEO & President in May 2015.
Based in London, Gisby is now tasked with delivering ambitious plans for the music company in content, technology and monetisation across Europe.

Gisby is a digital media executive who was one of the architects of the BBC’s digital strategy, and later ran the content and services at UK ISP Freeserve.
Prior roles include MD of Yahoo! UK, where he ran media products across Europe between 2004 – 2007, before being appointed to the board of Channel 4, where he led the teams that built 4oD.
He’s advised regulators on digital advertising and brand-funded content, and helped grow European digital video start-ups such as Rightster and Magine TV.
Gisby is also the Chairman of the British Screen Advisory Council and is a Director of Europe live event producer Artichoke Productions.
