Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has promoted Daniel Mora to Managing Director, Warner Chappell Music Colombia.
He reports to Gustavo Menendez, President, Warner Chappell Music, Latin America.
Mora joined Warner Chappell Music in 2013 as an A&R/Sync consultant before being named Director, A&R/Sync shortly after the opening of WCM’s Colombian offices.
Prior to that, Mora toured throughout Latin America as a member of the popular Tropipop band, Bonka, and later started his own audiovisual company in Bogotá, producing films and commercials for brands such as Chevrolet, Adidas, Hush Puppies, and Falabella.
“From the moment I met Daniel – back then a musician and songwriter himself – I could tell that he had the potential to do great things in the industry, and for this company,” said Menendez. “He’s a creative force and a hard-working leader who knows the business inside and out. I’m delighted to have him at the helm of our Colombian team during such an exciting and important time for Latin music.”
“It’s incredible, the amount of talent coming out of Colombia, one of the most exponentially growing music markets in Latin America,” said Mora. “I’m privileged to work with some of the best songwriters in the world and excited to continue growing our roster in the region. I’d like to thank Gustavo for this wonderful new opportunity, and the global WCM team for their amazing support.”
WCM Colombia’s rapidly growing roster currently includes: Latin Grammy winner Juan Pablo Vega, Santiago Cruz, Piso 21, and Lalo Ebratt from the popular urban collective, Trapical Minds.
Mora holds a degree in Social Communications and Music Production from Politécnico Grancolombiano and is currently enrolled in a continuing education program in Finance at Universidad de los Andes, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Latin America.Music Business Worldwide
