Digital media and content company UPROXX has appointed entertainment industry heavyweight Charlie Corwin to its new advisory board.
Corwin (pictured) will help steer UPROXX’s expansion into television and film.
His appointment follows the recent acquisition of UPROXX by Warner Music Group (WMG).
Corwin is the first member of UPROXX’s newly created advisory board – an initiative to further the media brand’s creative efforts in film, TV, and advertising.
Like Corwin, the board will be comprised of individuals with ‘unique skill sets’ at the top of their respective fields.
Corwin was most recently CEO of Imagine Entertainment, founded by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard. Before that, he was Co-Chairman and CEO of Endemol Shine Americas, overseeing the merger and integration of Endemol and Shine in North and South America.
Corwin started his career by co-founding internet startup Live Music Channel, a pioneer in video streaming, and later co-founding movie and television production company Original Media.
As CEO of Original Media, Corwin produced numerous acclaimed feature films and created some of the US’s most successful TV series.
He is also the creator of hit docu-series such as Miami Ink and its popular spinoffs, as well as the breakout successes Swamp People and Storm Chasers.
In the world of film, Corwin’s work has been nominated for a total of 14 Spirit Awards, 3 Golden Globes, and 2 Academy Awards.
“UPROXX has an amazing brand and thriving platform,” said Charlie Corwin.
“Their loyal audience wants premium programs and UPROXX has responded with an award-winning studio. Now with the acquisition by Warner Music, our goal is to become a top tier creator of original content.
“I’m honored to work with the talented folks at UPROXX and Warner Music to deliver on that mission.”
“Charlie is an inventive leader and his expertise will be invaluable as UPROXX expands its ability to create stories and conversations that influence culture.”

UPROXX CEO Benjamin Blank added: “Charlie has been at the helm of some of the biggest brands in entertainment and is a known innovator.
“We’re now living in an era when more traditional platforms must merge with new ones. As such, it’s critical to have leaders who can see three or four moves ahead. Charlie is one of those people, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our team.”
