Warner/Chappell Music has promoted Eric Mackay to Executive Vice President, Global Digital Strategy with immediate effect.
Primarily based in London, Mackay will continue to report directly to Jon Platt, Chairman and CEO of Warner/Chappell Music.
In his new post, Mackay will be responsible for leading the publisher’s global digital strategy, as well as expanding its commercial partnerships.
He will oversee Warner/Chappell’s global digital team, which handles the major’s relations with streaming services, app developers and beyond.
The news represents the latest big move by Jon Platt in Europe: earlier this week the Los Angeles-based exec appointed Sony Music‘s Santiago Menéndez-Pidal as WC’s new Managing Director in Spain – 18 months after he hired Mike Smith as MD in the UK market.

Mackay arrived at Warner/Chappell in 2015, as Head of Digital, Europe.
He was promoted by Jon Platt to Vice President, Digital, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia-Pacific in September 2016.
Before joining Warner/Chappell, Mackay worked at companies including Vevo, CELAS, White Noise and Integral Management.
