Spotify has entered into a partnership with US-based telco AT&T to offer the latter’s biggest-paying customers long-term premium subscriptions.
Starting tomorrow (August 9), AT&T Unlimited & More Premium customers can select a Spotify Premium subscription from one of seven premium entertainment options for free.
Other options these customers can choose include a Pandora Plus subscription, or subs to the premium offerings of HBO, Starz, Cinemax and more.
Select AT&T customers can also sign up for a sixth month free trial of Spotify Premium.
Spotify’s tie up with AT&T follows Apple Music‘s expanded partnership with another US-based telco in January, Verizon.
Since January, Verizon’s Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited customers have been able to get a free subscription to Apple Music on an ongoing basis. Apple Music is available on a six-month ‘free trial’ basis to Verizon’s Unlimited tariff customers
AT&T is currently the largest mobile network in the US in terms of subscribers with 159.7 million subscribers at the end of Q2 2019.
Verizon had 155.7m subscribers at the end of Q1 2019.
Spotify’s subscriber base grew to 108m at the end of its second calendar quarter according to its financial results published on July 31.
