Ali Lieberman has been named VP of Product at independent music company Symphonic Distribution.
Lieberman brings over a decade of industry experience to the role.
Before joining Symphonic, Lieberman served creators, labels and publishers by leading business process and product management at digital rights organization SoundExchange, where she was also product manager of Music Data Exchange (MDX).
Lieberman also managed the US ISRC Agency within the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Symphonic says that Lieberman’s appointment “arrives just in time for Symphonic’s rapidly progressing tech developments.”
The company is headquartered in the USA, and has expanded in to countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Spain.
In May, Symphonic enlisted Tamsanqa Ngxeketo to lead a team based in South Africa, consisting of A&R and Client Marketing services, to secure key partnerships and aggregators focused on Afrobeats, Gospel and Gqom.
Symphonic has worked with clients such as Surf Mesa, Stick Figure, CloZee, El Alfa, Juan Luis Guerra, Doechii, Curtis Roach, ALOK, Nick Murphy aka Chet Faker, and La Ross Maria.
In September, the company also partnered with Tully, a Sony Music-backed music creation, collaboration and distribution startup founded by tech entrepreneur Dhruv Joshi and rapper Joyner Lucas.
