BMG has made a play for the Asia-Pacific sync business through the acquisition of production music house Big Bang & Fuzz (BBF).
The firm will allow BMG’s Production Music arm to service the Asia-Pacific region for TV and radio broadcasting, film and trailer production, advertising and brand clients.
Founded in Australia in 1998, Big Bang & Fuzz is one of the largest independent production music companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
The company focuses on sub-publishing international catalogues, including BMG‘s recent additions of AXS (France) and Altitude & Must Save Jane (UK).
Its clients have included ABC, Airbnb, CNBC, Fremantle Media, IKEA, Netflix, Saatchi & Saatchi, Toyota, and Vodafone.
As part of the deal, Big Bang & Fuzz founder Andrew Jones will become VP BMG Production Music Asia Pacific.
He and his team will move into BMG’s Sydney offices and Jones will report to BMG Production Music worldwide Managing Director, Geert-Willem Koolhof.
The move brings the number of territories with a BMG Production Music office to six, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands and Australia (covering Asia-Pacific).
