BMG has promoted Jasmina Zammit to General Manager of Brazil, where she’s responsible for establishing a local music publishing and recordings repertoire operation in Latin America’s largest music market.
Until now, BMG Brazil has focussed on representing international repertoire in the region.
Zammit has worked at BMG since its launch in 2008, first as assistant to CEO Hartwig Masuch, and most recently served as Vice President International Licensing & Marketing in Berlin.
In her new role, she will oversee the local A&R and synch departments, working alongside Julio Vieira, Director of Finance & Operations for BMG Brazil.
Zammit will continue to report to Patrick Joest, Executive Vice President Licensing & Marketing International, who said: “Few people understand the BMG approach better than Jasmina.

“With BMG Brazil’s excellent local team by my side, I am looking forward to working with songwriters and artists in Brazil to help them achieve their full potential at home and abroad.”
Zammit joined the BMG international licensing and marketing team in 2010 where she took on responsibility for synch activity through the company’s network of sub-publishers, setting up the team that continues to develop it and in the process significantly increasing revenue.
She played an essential part in the global roll-out of BMG’s approach to synch, training and integrating licensing staff in territories all over the world, including China, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
BMG launched its own wholly-owned operation in Brazil in 2016, following its acquisition of the assets of music publisher Basement Brazil.
Brazil is the ninth biggest recorded music market according to the IFPI and, according to CISAC, the eighth biggest for music publishing collections.
