Big Hit Entertainment, the company behind K-Pop superstars BTS, and its label Source Music are holding a large scale global audition to assemble a new girl group.
The new group is expected to debut in 2021, says Big Hit, whose CEO Bang Si-Hyuk and CBO Min Hee-jin will take the lead on the global search.
CEO Bang Si-Hyuk will oversee production including music producing, while CBO Min Hee-jin will lead the creative direction and branding that encompasses concept, video, and image.
It will be the first girl group to be launched by Big Hit since CBO Min Hee-jin joined the company.

Los Angeles, New York City: October 5
Perth, Singapore: October 12
Melbourne: October 13
Busan, Gwangju, Osaka, Sapporo, Taipei: October 19
Seoul, Tokyo, Kaohsiung: October 20
Hanoi, Bangkok: October 26
Ho Chi Minh: October 27
Big Hit Entertainment recently revealed its revenues for the first half of 2019 were 200.1bn KRW, equivalent to $166.3m at current exchange rates.
That number is close to the revenue the company generated in 2018, when it turned over 214bn KRW ($178m at current rates).Music Business Worldwide
