Chris York named Senior Director of A&R for Capitol Records in Nashville

Capitol Records has named Chris York Senior Director of A&R.

Based in Nashville, York will sign and develop talent for Capitol as well as continuing to oversee A&R for label signings Striking Matches and Judah and The Lion.

He will report into Ashley Newton, Capitol Music Group (CMG) President and Universal Music Group (UMG) Executive Vice President of Creative/Special Projects.

York moves over to Capitol Records, a Division of Capitol Music Group (CMG), from his role as A&R Director for CMG’s I.R.S. Nashville.

He began his career with the org that became CMG, Capitol Christian Music Group, 19 years ago.

York will continue to undertake A&R duties for that label in addition to his new role at Capitol Records.
