Conexion Music Ltd falls into administration

UK-based independent publisher Conexion Music and its parent Conexion Media Ltd have fallen into administration.

Conexion Music provides services to clients ranging from straightforward catalogue admin through to active music placement with both artists and in film / TV productions.

Its writers and artists have included Afrika Bambaataa (pictured), Alfred “Pee Wee” Ellis, Barry Mason, Cymande, Debbie Wiseman, Gary Osborne, Ijahman Levi, Jeff Christie, Juan Martin, Najma Akhtar, Richard Fiocca, Rick Astley and Tom Robinson.

Other clients have included Blueprint Productions, Cinevolve Studios, Goldcrest Films, Hasbro, Hearst Entertainment, Kid Gloves Music, Matchroom TV, Monster Distributes and Times Group of India.

According to its latest accounts filings with Companies House, Conexion Music Ltd lost £316,282 in 2014.

Despite revenues of £923,586 in the year, the firm was hit by £778,264 in operating costs and a £433,466 cost of sales.

Parent Conexion Media Ltd lost £236,011 in 2014 on revenues of £268,521.

It was due to repay a loan from Polymer Holdings Ltd, a shareholder, worth £975,000.

Geoffrey Martin & Co was appointed as administrator of the Conexion Media Ltd business on February 1.
