Cooking Vinyl Publishing signs UK songwriter Matty Benbrook

Cooking Vinyl Publishing has signed hit UK songwriter Matty Benbrook on a multi-year deal covering songs written since 2014 and future compositions.

London-based Benbrook is a multi-platinum selling, ASCAP Award-winning, BRIT-nominated songwriter/producer behind songs for artists such as Paolo Nutini, Jack Savoretti, Dido, Faithless and Beverley Knight, credited with worldwide record sales totalling over 35 million units.

Benbrook is best known for playing a significant role in the emergence of Paolo Nutini, with whom he co-wrote and produced the hit single New Shoes, plus Last Request and Million Faces from his five-times platinum Atlantic Records debut album These Streets, and Coming Up Easy on the follow up record, Sunny Side Up.

Based in Hackney, East London, Benbrook has collaborated with a long list of artists including James Morrison, Lana Del Rey, Natty, AOSOON, Elderbrook, Mel C, Mutya Buena, Newton Faulkner, Nizlopi, Sarah Darling, Lewis Capaldi, Jake Bugg, Tom Grennan, Jamie N Commons, Jamie Lawson, and Izzy Bizu, many of whom from an early stage in their careers.

Benbrook’s signing marks is the first non-performing writer to join the roster since the company began, some 15 years ago.
