Spotify‘s Loud & Clear website is a treasure trove of data about the popularity – and the royalty earnings – of tracks and artists on the platform.
One of the most interesting segments of the site, which is updated annually, shows how many artists are earning above certain royalty thresholds. For example: the number of artists earning more than US $10k per year, or more than $50k per year, or more than $1 million per year etc.
From this information, MBW is able to neatly categorize artists into the below earnings segments.
Each chart below represents data from a particular year. (Loud & Clear uses data from the previous year to its update; for example, the 2024 version of Loud & Clear is based on full-year data from 2023.)
