Warner Music Group (WMG) issues quarterly and annual financial results to shareholders.
Within these results, Warner breaks down its global recorded music revenues by four categories:
- (i) Digital revenues, covering streaming and download;
- (ii) Physical revenues, covering CD and vinyl sales;
- (iii) ‘Artist Services & Expanded Rights’, covering merchandise sales plus advertising, merchandising including direct-to-consumer sales, touring, concert promotion, ticketing, sponsorship, fan clubs, artist websites, social publishing, and artist and brand management.; and
- (iv) Licensing, covering both sync (TV/film/games/advertising etc.) plus public performance collections for recorded music used on TV/radio and in bars, nightclubs, shops etc.
