Record industry veteran Dennis Dennehy has been hired by live music giant AEG Presents in the newly-created position of Chief Communications Officer, in addition to joining the AEG Presents Executive Committee.
Los Angeles-based Dennehy joins AEG Presents from Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA) Records, where he served as Executive Vice President and Head of Publicity. He has spent the past 20 years working for Interscope and IGA.
In his new position, Dennehy will oversee the development and implementation of AEG Presents’ internal and external media presence, positioning, and communications, reporting to AEG Presents’ Chairman and CEO Jay Marciano.
Additionally, he will work closely with AEG Presents’ artists and management partners as needed to develop comprehensive media strategies that align with their overall vision, as well as support AEG Presents’ globally renowned brands, business units and concert tours, including the organization’s 16 regional offices.

At Interscope Geffen A&M, Dennehy crafted or oversaw media campaigns for some of the most successful and influential artists in popular music, including Eminem, Gwen Stefeni and No Doubt, Lady Gaga, U2, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Blackpink, Nine Inch Nails, The 1975 and Imagine Dragons, among many others.
Dennehy began his career in music in the publicity department at Geffen Records in 1992, working tour press for artists such as Nirvana and Sonic Youth, rising to Director of Artist and Media Relations in 1994, where he ran press campaigns for Beck, Sonic Youth, Rob Zombie, and Aimee Mann, among others.
He joined Interscope in 1999 when Geffen and A&M Records were merged with the label, and was named Head of Publicity by Interscope Chairman and CEO Jimmy Iovine in 2003.
