Digital music distribution and services company FUGA has added much-loved independent label Domino to its roster of partners – barely two months after it pinched Ministry Of Sound’s business from Sony DADC.
The agreement will see FUGA digitally deliver Domino’s catalogue and future releases from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Hot Chip, Wild Beasts, Jon Hopkins, Villagers and Anna Calvi.
Domino is a globally recognised label with offices in the UK, US, France and Germany. Founded in 1993, other areas of the business include a publishing company and a series of sister labels; Weird World, Double Six and Ribbon Music.
FUGA says its ability to ‘deliver multiple encodings per track’ made them the ‘natural choice’ for Domino – meaning that the firm can deliver various file types as one single product, including tracks Mastered for iTunes (MfiT) as well as those that are 16-bit CD quality.
This is important, says FUGA, as a growing proportion of Domino’s catalogue is now offered as High Definition audio, while an increasing number of services such as TIDAL, Deezer Elite and Pono now offering 16-bit and 24-bit streams and downloads.
Many of FUGA’s largest clients are already distributing HD, including Armada, Baseware, Harmonia Mundi and Essential.
Jason Reed, Head of Digital at Domino Recording Company commented: “We’re happy to have partnered with FUGA as our digital integrations solution.
“Their platform provides an intuitive, efficient and flexible solution for us in managing our digital releases and deliveries across our retail and streaming partners.”
Pieter Van Rijn, CEO of FUGA added: “We’re pleased that Domino chose us as their digital distribution partner, as our pioneering tech for easy distribution of multiple encodings is something we’re all proud of at FUGA.
“We are of course very excited to be working with the Domino team and the consistently great music they put out.”Music Business Worldwide
