Facebook‘s recruitment drive in the music business continues.
MBW has spotted that the company is hiring for a Music Publishing Business Development Manager based in London to “lead music publisher/society licensing strategy and negotiations with rights-holders in EMEA”.
The news comes barely a week after it was revealed that the social media giant had taken another big step towards working with the music business by acquiring copyright identification startup Source3.
Facebook’s ad for the EMEA publishing role notes that the successful candidate will also “collaborate with our product and media partnerships teams to ensure a coordinated and best-in-class licensing structure”, as well as “representing Facebook in meetings with music industry executives from other companies in EMEA”.
Someone with more than six years of experience in music partner relationship management is sought, while a “proven track record of leadership and hands-on deal experience in music licensing for global organizations” is preferred.
Unsurprisingly, Facebook is also looking for evidence of “digital music negotiation experience for musical composition”.
“This role will lead Facebook’s strategy and negotiations with EMEA music publishers and societies, as well as collaborate with our product and media partnerships teams to ensure a coordinated and best-in-class licensing structure.”

That’s not all: Facebook also has a relatively new vacancy open for a Music Data Analyst, Media Partnerships based at its HQ in Menlo Park, California.
The role which will see someone “develop the music partnerships research and measurement strategy and manage prioritization of initiatives across internal and external stakeholders” as well as “provide deep insights about the music ecosystem and partners to executives”.
Other music-focused roles currently open at Menlo Park include previously-announced positions working as Legal Director, Music Licensing, a Music Business Development Manager and a North America Music Publishing Business Development Lead.
There’s also an additional current Menlo Park vacancy which suggests Facebook is bulking up its music team, for a Label Music Business Development Manager.
Earlier this year, MBW spotted that Facebook was advertising for three music-focused licensing positions, which revealed that the firm was set to launch a “comprehensive music strategy”.
Two of those jobs related to music publishing: North America Music Publishing Business Development Lead and International Music Publishing Business Development Lead.
Another fell on the recorded side of the business: a Label Music Business Development Lead tasked with ‘leading Facebook’s strategy and negotiations’ with music labels throughout the world.
In January, Facebook hired respected YouTube exec Tamara Hrivnak as its global music strategy boss.
