Fortnite maker Epic Games is hosting another virtual concert, this time with Grammy-nominated electronic music DJ and producer, Kaskade.
Part of the next Llama-Rama event – a crossover between Fortnite and soccer/car racing game Rocket League – Kaskade will perform his new Reset EP and more at Fortnite’s Party Royale Main Stage tomorrow (March 26) at 8 pm ET and Saturday March 27 at 9 am ET and 2 pm ET.
The virtual event is being held in partnership with electronic music label Monstercat, which is also a long-standing music partner of Epic-owned developer Psyonix, the maker of Rocket League.
According to a media statement, the concert will have “heightened production elements and immersive story-driven visuals in XR, transporting viewers into the Fortnite and Rocket League universes”.
“Kaskade will travel between Stadiums, drive Rocket League cars, and arrive at the new Neon Fields for a festival-style performance,” states the release.
Rocket League recently introduced its “first-ever music-themed season” with Kaskade as the headliner, releasing his full Reset EP in-game.
Kaskade also took over the in-game radio station for Fortnite, Radio Yonder, on January 20.
Monstercat says that over 100 of its songs feature in-game on Rocket League and that the label “has created opportunities for artists in-game to build long-term, dedicated fanbases within Rocket League & Fortnite”.
Monstercat also notes that Kaskade’s latest Rocket League single, Miles To Go with Ella Vos off his Reset EP (which he will perform for the first time in the concert), is the most streamed song in one day and the fastest streamed song in one week, in the label’s history.
“We’re excited to team up with Epic Games & Psyonix again for another Fortnite Party Royale concert.”
Gavin Johnson, Monstercat
Monstercat’s Head of Gaming, Gavin Johnson, told MBW: “We’re excited to team up with Epic Games & Psyonix again for another Fortnite Party Royale concert.
“Since launching the first music-driven season of Rocket League with Kaskade, it’s been an incredible journey seeing players discover new music and become fans through his ‘Reset’ EP.
“Being able to cross-pollinate our audiences through these collaborations brings value to everyone involved and we’re looking forward to creating another unprecedented live experience this weekend.”
The Kaskade virtual concert follows a run of successful of in-game concerts in Fortnite for artists such as Travis Scott in April last year and Marshmello in 2019.
Fortnite’s Main Stage venue is part of the game’s Party Royale mode, an “experimental and evolving space,” which was opened with a secret set by Diplo on May 1, 2020.Music Business Worldwide
