FUGA inks deal with developer Riot Games to distribute entire music catalog of League of Legends

Digital services company FUGA has entered into partnerships with League of Legends’ developer Riot Games and EDM label Monstercat.

FUGA’s partnership with Riot Games encompasses ongoing global digital distribution, excluding China and South Korea, for the entire musical catalogue for the world’s most popular PC game, League of Legends.

This includes the current release POP/STARS from virtual K-pop band K/DA (pictured).

The virtual group and its music video for POP/STARS debuted on Saturday, November 3 during the opening ceremony for the finals of the League of Legends World Championship in Seoul, South Korea, which was watched by a massive global audience.

The song already has over 50 million views on YouTube.



Meanwhile, FUGA has also struck a global digital distribution deal with independent electronic record label and brand Monstercat.

The Vancouver, Canada-based label source and curate the soundtrack for the hugely popular video game Rocket League, serialising the tracks through compilation ‘mixtape’ albums.

The latest of these is Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 4, released in September. Monstercat works with EDM stars including Marshmello.

FUGA has also entered into partnerships with three different music companies based in Mexico and the US, including a digital distribution deal with Nashville-based artist development company and publisher Big Yellow Dog, which works with singer-songwriter Leah Nobel.

It has also signed a digital distribution deal with Mexico-based Movic Records, whose roster includes Latin Grammy nominees Los Claxons and rock band Panda.

Alpha Pup, the Los Angeles-based aggregator of over 80 independent record labels including Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder has selected FUGA as their new partner for catalogue management and deliveries worldwide.Music Business Worldwide
