Global law firm Reed Smith has announced the members of its new Senior Management Team, following a partner vote on the recommendations of the firm’s global managing partner, Casey Ryan.
In addition to Ryan, the seven-member Senior Management Team (SMT) is comprised of three new members and three current members.
The new members are Julie Hardin as managing partner, Americas; Gregor Pryor as managing partner, Europe and the Middle East (EME); and James Tandler as chair of the Business and Finance Department.
Doug Cameron, previously managing partner, Americas, will assume the role of global head of legal personnel.
Returning members are Peter Ellis as chair of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and Nick Bagiatis as chief operating officer.
In media and entertainment, based in London, Gregor Pryor has been the co-chair of the Entertainment and Media Industry Group since 2015.
Reed Smith notes that he is “widely recognized as one of the world’s leading lawyers in digital media”.
He has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2022 and chairs its Innovation and Strategy Committee.
Pryor will succeed London-based structured finance partner Tamara Box.
Meanwhile, Ryan assumed the role of global managing partner in March 2023. She has been at the firm since 1996 and held numerous previous leadership positions, including global practice group leader of the Labor and Employment Group, vice chair of the firm’s Litigation Department and global head of legal personnel.
Doug Cameron, Global Head of Legal Personnel, a Pittsburgh-based commercial and insurance recovery litigator who has spent his entire career at Reed Smith, has served on the SMT since 2016, first as chair of the Litigation Department and more recently as managing partner, Americas. Before joining the SMT, he served as practice group leader of the Insurance Recovery Group for 13 years and on the Executive Committee for six years. Cameron succeeds Ryan in this role.

Peter Ellis, Chair, Litigation and Dispute Resolution is a Chicago-based commercial litigator, and has served on the SMT since 2019. Before joining the SMT, he was chair of the Global Commercial Disputes practice, a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the Clients and Markets Committee. Ellis will continue in his role as chair of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department.
Julie Hardin, Managing Partner, Americas, is an experienced trial lawyer focused on the energy and life science sectors. Hardin is one of the founding partners of Reed Smith’s Houston office and has served on the Executive Committee since 2016. A former chair of the Talent Committee, Hardin is committed to talent development and strategic growth. Hardin succeeds Cameron in this role.
Based in New York, James Tandler, Chair, Business and Finance, has served as chair of the U.S. Corporate Group, a team of over 150 lawyers in 18 U.S. offices, focusing on corporate and securities, tax, benefits, executive compensation and wealth planning. He was also co-chair of the Global Corporate Group, a role he held since 2020. Tandler will succeed Washington, D.C.-based transactional and regulatory partner Carol Loepere.

Cameron and Hardin will assume their roles effectively immediately. Pryor and Tandler will assume their new roles on July 1.
Appointed chief operating officer in 2018, Bagiatis provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of the firm’s global operations. Before becoming COO, Bagiatis was a senior member of the Business and Finance Department leadership team for more than 10 years.
