London-based frontline Universal Music UK label 0207 Def Jam has appointment Heidi Jacob as Promotions Director.
With 14 years’ experience in a broad range of industry roles, Jacob is the latest of senior hires made by 0207 Def Jam following the appointments of Amy Tettey (managing director), Jacqueline Eyewe (marketing director), Char Grant (A&R director) and Wretch 32 who recently came on board as Creative Director at the label.
Twin brothers Alec and Alex Boateng were officially unveiled as co-Presidents of the newly-launched 0207 Def Jam in November 2020.
On November 30, the label announced superstar British rapper Stormzy as its first major signing.
Jacob most recently spent four years at Island Records after joining the label in 2016 as senior national radio manager.
At Island she was promoted to Executive National and Urban Radio Manager in 2018 and worked on campaigns for artists including Ariana Grande, Drake, Mary J Blige and Sean Paul, plus successful British acts including Big Shaq and Bugzy Malone.
Jacob started her career in Decca’s classics and jazz department in 2006, working as an A&R assistant before moving into the promotions team, where she progressed to radio promotions executive, working across a variety of genres within the label.
She then moved across to Warner Bros Records in 2011, where she worked her way up to the role of National Radio Manager, working with artists such as Jason Derulo, Dua Lipa, Michael Bublé and Lianne La Havas.
