Hipgnosis Songs Fund has confirmed the acquisition of a music catalog from hit producer Emile Haynie.
Details of the acquisition were first revealed in the Merck Mercuriadis-led, UK-based company’s interim report, published last month.
Hipgnosis has acquired 100% of Emile Haynie’s worldwide copyrights, including publishing and writer share, as well as producer royalty income streams, of his catalog comprising 122 songs.
In 2009 and 2010, Emile Hayne collaborated as an executive producer on Kid Cudi’s three times Grammy Nominated Man on the Moon: The End of Day and Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, which were respectively certified 2x platinum and platinum in the U.
Haynie also produced Lana Del Rey’s (pictured) 2012 album Born to Die, which reached No.1 in five countries including the UK and is certified 3x platinum in the UK and platinum in the US.
Born to Die was the fifth bestselling album of 2012 globally and has been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify alone.
Haynie also produced the fourth single from the album Summertime Sadness which is certified 4x platinum in the US and 2x platinum in the UK.
Emile Haynie has also collaborated on Adele’s US diamond certified album 25, which reached No.1 in 32 countries including the US and UK and with over 25 million copies sold; Eminem’s 2010 album Recovery, which was nominated for two Grammy Awards winning Best Rap Album and is certified 3x platinum in the US and the UK as well as Fun’s Grammy Award winning and US 3x Platinum album Some Nights.
The catalog also includes the hit songs Runaway by Kanye West featuring Pusha T which is certified platinum in the US, Headlights by Eminem featuring Nate Ruess which is certified platinum in the US and River by Eminem featuring Ed Sheeran which is certified platinum in the UK as well as songs performed by Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, FKA Twigs, Ian Brown, Lady Gaga, Pink, Emeli Sande, The Rolling Stones, ASAP Rocky, Drake, SZA, London Grammar, Mark Ronson and Florence and the Machine.
Emile Haynie was represented by Neil Jacobson at Crescent Drive Productions and Renee Karalian at Carroll Guido Groffman Cohen Bar & Karalian, LLP.
