Redeye, the North Carolina-based North American independent distributor, has acquired Sweden-based music distribution company Border Music.
The news was announced today at the company’s year-end Label Hang in North Carolina.
Continuing to operate as Border Music with a warehouse in Göteborg, the deal allows Border access to Redeye’s worldwide digital and physical distribution, including joint development of extensive proprietary digital analytic tools for labels through Border’s B2B.
With the acquisition, Redeye’s European digital team expands to six reps with offices in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark in addition to London and Berlin.
Early releases under the deal include Drive-By Truckers (pictured) (ATO), Born Ruffians (Yep Roc), James Hunter Six (Daptone) Beach Bunny (Mom+Pop) Banoffee (Cascine), Pet Shop Boys (AWAL) and Jonathan Wilson (Bella Union).
