I look forward to working with Jane, the MPA team and my friends and colleagues on the Board and throughout the industry to build on the MPA’s achievements to date.
“Nationally, regionally and globally there has never been a more important time for us all to stand together to defend the rights of creators and right holders and the business we love”.
Chris Butler, added: “I am delighted to be passing the baton to Jackie, for whom I have the greatest respect – I know she will do a wonderful job. I have had the good fortune to work with an excellent board of directors and a dedicated MPA staff throughout my time as Chairman and I am sure that they will now support Jackie in equal measure.”
Also joining the MPA team on July 1st is Claire McAuley, currently Business Affairs Manager at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, who will fill the newly-created role of General Manager.
Previously holding positions as Contracts Manager and UK Copyright Manager at Universal Music Publishing, she will report directly to acting CEO Jane Dyball.
Claire McAuley said: “I’m thrilled to be re-entering the world of music publishing as part of the MPA and am looking forward to leading the team under Jane’s direction as the organisation continues to strive for the betterment of our industry through the representation of its membership.”
Jane Dyball added: “We must pay tribute to Chris Butler who has successfully steered the organisation through a period of immense change, taking its wholly owned subsidiary MCPS out of the PRS Alllance, and starting a new collection society in the form of PMLL.
“However all good things must come to an end and Jackie Alway will be a fantastic replacement. Already committed to the MPA through her work on its Board and committees, and to the music publishing sector in general, I look forward with working with Jackie over the next few years when there is so much to be done.
“Meanwhile, it is important that the team at the MPA have detailed knowledge of the music publishing business and to that end I am delighted to welcome Claire McAuley in the newly created role of General Manager”.
