Roc Nation has purchased “SENSO” tokens issued by Sensorium Corporation.
SENSO tokens are the in-platform, Ethereum-based currency of Sensorium Galaxy, the still-unreleased social VR platform owned by $100m-backed Sensorium Corporation, which was founded in 2018 by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.
The value of the purchase has not been disclosed.
Roc Nation’s purchase of SENSO tokens follow’s the news from last August that TIDAL, which Jay-Z sold to Jack Dorsey in April, spent $7 million on SENSO Tokens.
Sensorium Galaxy is claimed to be “the world’s most advanced social VR platform” and its users will be required to use SENSO to access VR shows.
Sensorium Galaxy consists of multiple virtual worlds, each of which features a particular type of content. Artists and DJs like David Guetta, Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, and Black Coffee are among the first artists confirmed for the PRISM world.
By the end of 2022, the company says that it “expects” that more than 1.8 million users would use SENSO tokens to access VR content on Sensorium Galaxy.
In a similar fashion to in-game currencies, SENSO is used for all value transactions within the ecosystem.
Participants use these tokens to access artists’ shows on the platform, subscribe to premium content, customize their avatars, upgrade features, issue NFTs, as well as execute other actions.
