JOB TITLE – Day to Day Manager / Assistant – established Australian artists
REPORTS TO – Artists / Artist Manager
BACKGROUND
Two established Australian artists are seeking an experienced Day to Day Manager to support the ongoing management of the their personal matters and professional business. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the music industry and/ or talent management.
Seeking someone who is always ”one step ahead” and can handle a full slate of projects and maintain organisation at all times. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent organisational and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, time management, and most importantly, the ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Note this is an urgent role and priority will likely be given to candidates with a short notice period.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating, planning and communicating artists daily diary and tasks (personal and business) requiring action/ attention
- Coordinating travel arrangements and itineraries (flights, airport parking, cabs, Ubers, hotels, Air BNBs, trains, etc)
- Calendar management across multiple time zones, including promo, recording and tour schedules as well as arranging visas, maintaining guestlists, and generating itineraries
- Management of personal affairs of both the artists
- Overseeing all elements of artist campaigns, including global release schedules, promo, social media plans, press, marketing and touring
- Assisting with the coordination and creation of various elements of music, music video, other creative assets
- Assisting with the oversight of all elements of artist campaigns, including global release schedules, promo, social media plans, press, marketing and touring
- Act as key point of contact for third parties, filtering information as needed to the artist manager and often acting as a central point for third parties to communicate/exchange information as well as facilitating the execution of tasks by artist (record labels/ publishers/ agents/ lawyers/ business managers etc.)
- Efficient daily communication and information flow with artist ensuring confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Schedule calls, meetings, and conference calls between multiple parties in different time zones
- Manage and optimise artist’s online presence and social media strategy, content creation and execution, maintaining overview of fan interaction
- Where required accompany the Artist(s) on Radio & TV promo, TV shoots, ad campaign activity, high-profile events and ensuring external parties abide by contractual agreement
- Scheduling and management of approved promotional requests and other items
- Working with Artists distributors and merchandise providers to assist with manufacturing, inventory management, D2C and merchandise strategy
- Proof-reading press releases, biographies, and artwork
- General artist assistance including management of personal expenses and tasks (management and payment of residential and motor vehicle insurance policies, registration, utilities etc)
- Assist with special projects, errands and live events as needed
- Managing the filing and organisation of documents, photographs, PR and promotional materials
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Able to keep track of many ongoing projects with strong attention to detail and absolute reliability and dependability at all times, with flawless follow-through on commitments and responsibilities
- High level of professionalism in general and particularly when dealing with A-list talent and high profile individuals
- Must be punctual, proactive, reliable, detail-oriented, organised, self-motivated, and resourceful
- Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple tasks with strict deadlines
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in talent management and or a similar fast-paced, artist-facing position in the music industry
- Broad understanding of the music industry, including experience managing release campaigns, tours, commercial partnerships, copyrights etc.
- Strong digital skillset with an up-to-date understanding and management of social media, DSPs, data analytics and the latest relevant technologies
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to build strong relationships with people from all backgrounds
- Natural drive and urgency, ability to adapt quickly to challenging situations and get the desired result, whatever it takes
- You will be required to respond to calls and emails outside of office hours, attend events on evenings and weekends, and travel at short notice – so flexibility is key
RECRUITMENT INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Structure: Full Time / Fixed employment. A full set of terms and conditions will be provided with a contract of employment
- Location: As the artists live in different states (in Australia) it is envisaged that the role will be performed remotely. Accordingly, there is flexibility in regard to the location from which the role will be performed from
- Hours: Average 38 hours per week
- Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
- Holiday: 20 days per annum + public holidays
