Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director UK, the Director of Artist Services is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy, A&R, new business opportunities, global marketing, and operations for the Artist Services division at Believe UK.

This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive significant revenue growth, deliver global campaign successes, and manage a team of staff members across various departments.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Play a vital role in Senior Management, contributing to company strategy, policies, organisational structure, and brand marketing to maximize business growth
  • Steer global Artist Services strategy through collaboration with international counterparts
  • Act as a strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and adapt to market changes
  • Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities and partnerships

Business Development and Commercial Strategy:

  • Grow the business while ensuring profitability across all signings
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen, including budget management and P&L responsibility
  • Apply strong negotiation and relationship-building skills in all aspects of the role
  • Sign artists by focusing on key genres and market opportunities
  • Assist the MD in developing and negotiating M&A opportunities to drive growth and oversee integration and future partner management
  • Scale and optimise operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Deliver successful campaigns for the Artist Services department, contributing to a progressive increase in market share

Team Management and Operations

  • Manage and lead the Artist Services team, overseeing key departments in A&R, Marketing, Digital, DSP relations and Operations
  • Implement new systems and processes to optimise workflow and efficiency
  • Collaborate with department team leaders and HR to develop individual performance goals, long-term operational plans, and training initiatives
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and results-orientated thinking within the team

Artist Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with high-profile artists, managers, and industry executives
  • Work closely with artists, management teams, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective, artist-centric campaigns and marketing strategies
  • Utilise data and analytics to inform decision-making processes and optimise campaign outcomes
  • Balance creative vision with commercial objectives

Qualifications
  • Proven track record in leadership roles within the music industry
  • Extensive experience in business development, marketing, artist development, and digital strategy
  • Capable of handling and navigating intricacies of a Global company, liaising effectively with colleagues in different parts of the world
  • Good financial acumen and able to understand, build (with the help of finance) and present budgets/forecasts for the UK AS Business along with key strategic messages to Senior Executives
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on revenue growth and profitability
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and adapt to market changes
  • Deep understanding of the global music landscape and emerging trends
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to balance creative vision with commercial objectives
