Manager, Global Physical Sales

Join our team as a Manager, Global Physical Sales, where you will support the Global Physical Sales team. This role will assist in managing BMG’s relationships with our physical sales partners globally and support the functions of our global distribution partner.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating with our distribution partner to present and solicit new releases to the physical account base.
  • Ensure that all assets required to set up products for pre-order are sourced from our Marketing teams in a timely manner in order to meet launch dates.
  • Collaborate with the Global Repertoire teams and Supply Chain teams to help manage physical products, orders, and inventory to maximize profitability.
  • Streamline inventory reporting and help identify opportunities.
  • Assist in managing sales forecasting for all physical products, identify comp titles, pull supporting Luminate / OCC and ship data
  • Ensure all sales solicitations are collated and distributed on time.
  • Analyze the performance of physical titles and maintain reports covering manufactured quantities, pre-sales, shipments, over-the-counter sales, stock-in-trade, and expected returns.
  • Help oversee retail marketing efforts to maximize visibility, sell-through, and profitability. Setup indie coalition programs (US).
  • Support retail artist events – instore appearances, listening parties, high priority visibility efforts.
  • Assist in overseeing retail promotions and price-led campaigns. Set up and then provide regular result updates and post mortem analysis.
  • Monitor priority project Amazon listing integrity. Proper art, description, and buy buttons
  • Identify new opportunities for local physical distribution and retail channels.
  • Support the setup and execution of Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) initiatives and contribute creative product ideas to generate additional revenue.
  • Analyze D2C performance and maintain appropriate reports.
  • Assist in the monitoring of physical market insights.
  • Maintain and distribute weekly reports to show pre-order numbers for key releases.
  • Maintain and distribute weekly reports to show forthcoming competitor releases and pricing
  • Ensure that any required price changes advised by the Sales team and set up appropriately and communicated to our distribution partner

Your Profile
  • Experience in supply chain/inventory management within the music industry
  • A highly motivated and forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of overseeing Physical Sales teams within the music industry.
  • You have experience working in the music business, ideally directly with physical retail accounts.
  • You are an excellent communicator, who can work and negotiate at a global level and also reach to different characters across all hierarchical levels.
  • You have a wide repertoire knowledge and a deep understanding of artists’ needs.
  • You can flexibly adapt to a complex fast-growing market such as physical retail landscape.
  • The ability to establish trustful relationships with clients is part of our BMG culture, as you know that a good partnership translates into good business.
  • Experienced with program or project management
  • Proven track record of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s) at an advanced level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
