Cargo is on the lookout for a Physical Sales Manager who will be a key component in Cargo’s well-established physical sales team, managing important UK retail accounts such as Amazon, HMV and independent record stores.

This new position will be at the forefront of Cargo’s core business and the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years music sales experience, a proven track record of excelling as part of a close-knit team and a passion for independent music and vinyl.

This full-time position will report to the Head of Physical Sales and is based in the Cargo UK office in West London SW6.


Responsibilities
  • Establish and manage relationships with several UK based retail accounts, over email, phone and in person.
  • Compile weekly release solicitations for retail, in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Highlight key releases to retail to maximise buy in and sales.
  • Work closely with the label management team to manage stock needs and the general needs of their key label clients.
  • Present retail marketing opportunities to the label management team and work with your accounts to establish new opportunities and marketing innovations.
  • Propose price campaigns, across single titles or entire catalogues, and compile campaign project plans for retail.
  • Provide sales and marketing reporting to label management team and senior management.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely invoicing and collections.
  • Stay in-tune with relevant UK market changes, trends, and innovations.

  • A proven track record of music release sales within entertainment retail
  • Demonstrable relationship building skills with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • A pro-active and creative approach to work to help Cargo labels and artists stand out in a crowded marketplace.
  • A passion for a wide range of independent music; talking about it, reading about it, and of course listening to it!
