Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and driven Director, Business Intelligence to lead the development and optimization of dashboards, forecasting models, and automated reporting solutions. This role is critical in leveraging data to drive audience engagement, optimize business operations, and support decision-making across Firebird Music, Leo 33, and Red Light Management.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the music industry, particularly within record label operations, and a proven track record in developing actionable insights that impact artist performance and business growth.


Key Responsibilities
  • Data Strategy & Leadership: Lead the development of a comprehensive business intelligence strategy for Firebird Music, integrating data from various platforms (streaming, sales, social, audience engagement, etc.) to inform artist and label strategy.
  • Collaborative Analytics: Work closely with the Heads of Leo 33, Firebird Data and Analytics, and the Leadership Team at Red Light Management to deliver insights that enhance artist development, digital marketing, and fan engagement strategies
  • Reporting & Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with real-time insights into key metrics such as audience demographics, engagement trends, streaming performance, and revenue forecasting.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with marketing, artist development, finance, and operations teams to identify data-driven opportunities for growth, improving workflows and decision-making processes.
  • Market & Audience Analysis: Analyze emerging trends in the music industry, audience behaviors, and competitive landscape to provide strategic recommendations for artist and label positioning.
  • Technology & Tools Oversight: Oversee the implementation and optimization of business intelligence tools and platforms, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Political Science, Mathematics or a related field with quantitative studies; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or a similar role with a focus on the music industry
  • Significant experience working with or within a record label environment is required.
  • 5+ years working with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
  • Familiarity with music industry platforms like Spotify for Artists, Apple Music, Luminate, Mediabase, Chartmetric, and Soundcharts.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and data integrity
  • Strong ability to translate data into strategic recommendations, with experience in predictive modeling, segmentation, and trend analysis.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and communicating complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in working with artist management teams to deliver insights is a plus.
  • Passion for music and the music industry is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The total compensation for this position includes a base salary of $125,000 to $200,000 per year + bonus + 401(k) with company matching, comprehensive health benefits, and other perks.
