Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as Director of Artist and Business Management. This unique position involves the intersection of project management, financial tracking/reporting, talent management workflows, and effective communication with business managers and artists’ representatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business or project management and an understanding of the entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Management Workflows:
- Develop and implement efficient talent management workflows to streamline financial processes
- Coordinate with artists’ representatives, business managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations
- Become the go-to person with the finger on the pulse of how our artists’ careers are being monetized
- Oversee and stand up continuous process improvement around income tracking on behalf of managers and artists
- Manage commission calculations, profit shares, JV statements, contract compliance, and other financial aspects related to talent management
Financial Management:
- Oversee financial aspects of our Talent Management Shared Services, including working with the broader Firebird team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for managers’ and internal purposes
Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business managers, artists, and internal departments to facilitate effective communication
- Provide financial insights and guidance to artist managers and Firebird/partner company management for informed decision-making
- Conduct regular meetings and updates to keep all relevant parties informed about financial matters
Contract Review:
- Review and analyze artist contracts to ensure accurate financial representation
- Work closely with legal teams to address financial implications and negotiate favorable terms for all parties involved
- Ensure compliance with stated terms and conditions across management relationships with artists and companies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or business management, preferably in the entertainment industry
- Familiarity with talent management workflows, artist contracts, and commission calculations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with business managers, artists, and internal teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and tracking
- High degree of comfort with Excel, Google Sheets, and Airtable
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
