Coordinator, Contract Admin
Overview
Kobalt Music Publishing is looking for a Coordinator to work within the Contract Administration team in Nashville. The Contract Administration team deals primarily with the interpretation, onboarding and administration of Kobalt Music Publishing’s client agreements, as well as the ingestion of copyrights into our internal system.
This is a critically important task within our department, and accuracy is key to ensure both the claims we make on behalf of our clients and our reporting back to them are correct. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and proactive administrator with excellent communication skills.
WHAT DOES A COORDINATOR IN CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AT KOBALT DO?
- Interprets and onboards key agreement terms from new long-form contracts into Kobalt’s bespoke publishing operations system
- Ingests copyrights (whether as part of a client signing or ongoing song deliveries) into Kobalt’s system
- Helps track and manage any conditional amendments to ongoing Kobalt publishing agreements
- Assists the wider Administration departments within Kobalt in the interpretation and implementation of contractual terms in our client agreements
- Makes relevant system updates as required for amended agreement terms
- Works closely with Business Affairs and advise on the feasibility of proposed contractual terms for new clients
- Supports the wider department’s strategic initiatives as we work to streamline and catalog processes related to the successful administration of our client agreements
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- It would be music to our ears if you have previous experience reading and interpreting music publishing contracts, but we are also keen to hear from you if you have 1-2 years of relevant administrative/data-entry experience in the music industry.
- High level of written and spoken English and good communication skills are essential: the duties require a very high level of communication internally, we are looking for someone who is able to adapt communication to audience
- Tech-savvy with competency with GSuite software
