About the Role
The Creative Sync Manager will be responsible for identifying sync opportunities for the company’s publishing and recording catalogues across various media platforms. This role requires a dynamic, creative individual with a good understanding of music and media, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will have strong relationships within the entertainment industry and a keen ability to match songs with projects. They will be resourceful, self-motivated, passionate about music, have a solid understanding of music rights and exceptional communication skills. This role blends creativity and sales with business acumen, requiring a genuine love for music, and the skill to navigate its commercial landscape, along with a talent for creative problem-solving.
A results driven mindset is essential! This is a full-time role, based in our Melbourne (Australia) office. Due to the nature of this role, this person will have the ability and willingness to work outside normal working hours including evenings.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Business development – identifying and maintaining strong relationships with sync clients in Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
- Maintain relationships with artists/writers, managers, international partners.
- Actively pitching music to advertising, film, TV and all media to secure sync opportunities.
- Co-ordinating commissioned briefs and sync workshops.
- Develop a deep knowledge of the company’s music catalogue, release and priorities.
- Creative co-ordination with Mushroom Music’s publishing and label team and Mushroom Group’s branding arm.
- Attending meetings, listening sessions, showcases, live shows, awards, conferences, sync and client related events.
- Monitoring and creating reports as required.
- Overall maintenance of the sync database and contact list.
Sounds like you? If so, you will have the following:
- Experience: Experience in either sync, music supervision, music publishing, A&R or a related field within the music or media industries.
- Team: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team as well as autonomously.
- Industry Contacts: Established relationships with music supervisors, ad agencies, film/TV production companies, and other relevant contacts.
- Music Knowledge: A passion for music, live shows and a deep understanding of different music genres.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present music options to clients.
- Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with DISCO (preferred but not essential) and proficient with Microsoft Suite.
