Announcement: ONE LICENSE seeks to grow their team of License Holder Sales and Support Representatives for employment in an ever-growing digital copyright licensing agency for sacred music. ONE LICENSE maintains 26,000 active licenses with churches worldwide, including 1,400 in the UK. Most of our UK license holders are Church of England or Roman Catholic parishes.

You are joining a community of music ministers, tech experts, pastors, and lay people who care deeply about dynamic, inclusive worship. On the ONE LICENSE team, you would be working with a global group of talented, loyal, dedicated, and reliable team members who provide solutions, education, and technical support for those we serve. Our agents also work in Australia and New Zealand and the United States.


Job Description
  • Actively present, promote, and support our licenses with churches in the UK and Ireland, working together with our U.S.-based team.
  • Brainstorm and assist with sales and marketing efforts in the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
  • Handle incoming inquiries from potential customers and maintain ongoing communications in an effort to promote the ONE LICENSE services that would best meet a church’s needs, and then help onboard them as customers / License Holders.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with large church bodies and individual churches throughout your region.
  • Share educational resources and field copyright questions in collaboration with the U.S.-based team.
  • Collaborate with a small team within a broader parent-company environment at GIA Publications, Inc., including interdepartmental communications and teamwork.
  • Process checks and record credit card and wire transfer transactions as needed.
  • Provide basic customer communications as needed, including via email, promotional physical mailers, regular statements and invoices.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Candidate must be:

  • A “self starter:” reliable, communicative, and dependable when working from a home office.
  • Willing to make a long-term commitment to the position.
  • Comfortable working within the church community and the church music community.
  • Interested in learning new skills and increasing their knowledge of copyright, sacred music, and licensing.
  • Friendly and calm when communicating with customers, and willing to ask for help from the team.
  • Humble and passionate about being part of a team.
  • Knowledge using a variety of computer / internet platforms, including Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Gmail. Experience with Zendesk, MailChimp, Basecamp, Canva, and WordPress is a plus.

Candidate Preferences

While not required, special consideration will be given toward candidates who:

  • Are bilingual in Spanish, French, or German.
  • Have experience in graphic design (specifically Canva), either personally or professionally.
  • Can exhibit firsthand experience with music, sacred music a plus.
  • Have experience in a general customer service role, and have additional experience in a subject area, such as accounting, marketing, church music or communications.
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience.

Location: Head office in Chicago / Bedford Park / Oak Park, Illinois, this opportunity is fully remote.

Reports to: General Manager, Dr. Katie M. Deaver.

Compensation: Starting rate for this position is 17 to 25 GBP per hour, plus standard benefits. Open to hiring as a contractor rather than an employee.

Work commitment: between a minimum of 20 hours per week to full time.

Start date: Immediately, or at a date agreeable with the candidate and General Manager.
